Did you meet us at Akustika Nürnberg earlier this March? If not, no worries. Here is a short summary of the experience for those who did not attend.
You might remember that this was the second musical instrument fair, after the Cremona Winds, to feature the Glissotar.
The event took place at the Nürnberg Exhibition Centre from March 8th to 10th. It welcomed thousands of visitors and hundreds of exhibitors. It was a usual fair in many ways but unique in some. Here’s how:
About one-third of the exhibitors were wind instrument exhibitors, which is a high number compared to other musical instrument fairs. This was great as it attracted many wind instrument players, including saxophonists, clarinetists, composers, and others.
Being at the booth was exhausting at times, in a good way. Even more importantly, the participation became inspiring through discussions with fellow musicians, instrument makers, and the variety of concerts.
The ratio of young musicians appeared to be rather high as well. This gave a special vibe to the event. We have a lot of experience seeing how seasoned musicians react to seeing the Glissotar for the first time. It was encouraging to see the curiosity with which the young generation approached the Glissotar and the inspiration it provided.
We are grateful for the attention and feedback we received and for the new relationships we began to build. And maybe see you next year 🙂
