Helper Strips
The Glissopipe is designed to be played by ear and instinct. But when you are just starting out, a little guidance can help. Helper Strips are optional magnetic overlays that attach directly onto the Glissopipe’s ribbon. They stay securely in place and show the positions of notes using colored rings — which you can both see and feel with your fingers.
Each of the 12 notes of the chromatic scale has its own color. Different musical scales are printed on separate strips, including diatonic and pentatonic scales (in all 12 keys) and a full chromatic scale.
Helper Strips make the first steps easier, especially for beginners, children, and music education — while still allowing the Glissopipe to remain an expressive, voice-like instrument guided by listening rather than rules.
Every Glissopipe you choose to back includes one C Major Diatonic Helper Strip included in the package at no extra cost. This strip helps you quickly locate the notes of the C Major scale (white keys on the piano) and makes it easier to start exploring the instrument right away. In addition, you can choose additional helper strips:
