Description
How it works – Forget about finger holes
Instead of the finger holes found on traditional duct flutes (recorders), the Glissopipe works by pressing a magnetic strip with your eight fingers or moving your finger up and down to create different tones.
The head: Just place the tip in your mouth and start blowing! The sound will follow.
The magnetic strip: Instead of the finger holes found on traditional recorders, the Glissopipe works by pressing a magnetic strip, moving your fingers up and down to create different tones.
More sound: The strip can be detached, giving acces to additional sound experiences.

Magnetic Mechanism
For wind instruments, stable sound production requires that the tone holes close perfectly – whether we cover them with our fingers or with keys. Even if there is a tiny leak next to a covered hole, the note can no longer be produced properly. This is also true for the Glissopipe, but in this case we need to seal a long slit perfectly. If we simply tried to press a plain strap onto the slit, air would easily escape unless we applied pressure along the entire length of the opening. The magnetic solution eliminates this problem: the magnetic strips placed on top of each other create an airtight seal because they attract one another.

The magnetic tapes are polarized in longitudinal parallel lines, alternating between North and South poles. For an airtight closure, it is essential that the pole lines of the two magnetic sheets adhering to each other align perfectly. That is why we developed a method that ensures the North–South pole pattern is always identical, so the straps can be replaced at any time.
